Finally spring is approaching! Besides looking forward to the warm weather you should be looking forward to all the cute new maternity styles from Belly Dance Maternity. Check in with us every week and we’ll tell you our new favorite item of week. It could be the maternity top that’s flying off the shelves, the baby onesie that’s too cute for words or just the maternity item that we can’t stop gushing about!

First up is the Ripe Pintucked Maternity Overshirt. This is an oldie, but goodie. We’ve carried it every spring season for a couple years and every year we sell out before the first tulip has popped up. This maternity top is the perfect transition piece. Wear it with maternity skinny jeans or maternity leggings and a long cardigan on top while there’s a still a chill in the air. When we’ve reached those lovely spring temps pair it with maternity bermuda shorts or cropped maternity leggings and a flat. The bright and cheerful guava color is sure to add some spice to your dreary winter wardrobe and the white and carbon are such great maternity basics that you’ll want all 3 colors!

There are so many pregnancy myths and old wives’ tales out there. Some have a basis of truth, some are terrifying and some are completely hilarious. Every week at Belly Dance Maternity we’re going to take a little tid bit about pregnancy and let you know if it’s true or a myth.

First up, if you have morning sickness you’re having a girl. MYTH. It is true that many women are unfortunately afflicting with morning sickness, but this will not help you determine the sex of your baby. The term morning sickness is also very deceiving because most women feel nauseous all day long. Most of the time this doesn’t last the entire pregnancy, but it is one of the least favorite parts of the first trimester. If you’re one of the unlucky ducks that’s constantly running to a bathroom give Preggie Pop Drops a try. They’re a sour candy that helps ease queasiness and also tastes delicious. Definitely a must have for an upset tummy!

We all remember watching Alyssa Milano play the adorable teen Samantha Micelli on “Who’s the Boss?” which is why we’re so excited to see her looking grown up, gorgeous and glowing! Alyssa recently wore a Maternal America maternity dress to the premiere of “Hall Pass”.
