Hello there! My name is Lauren and I’m the manager of Belly Dance’s Chicago boutique, and I’m 22 weeks pregnant with my first child. I’ve been loving sharing my experience with customers and hearing their stories, so we decided to take it beyond Chicago to our blog. This week I’ll be focusing on what I’m currently wearing. I have to start with most important item every momma-to-be needs…a pair of comfy jeans.
I was a big fan of the denim brand DL1961 pre-pregnancy and I’m happy to report that their maternity jeans do not disappoint. I went with the Amanda Jean in Flatiron – a super skinny fit in a dark indigo wash. They are made with the same 4-way stretch fabric as their regular line, so they don’t stretch out in the legs or bum. They do, however, have plenty of stretch where we need it – the underbelly band (there are stretch inserts right above the pockets). I love how comfortable and “normal” they feel and the dark wash is perfect for the winter, which is the longest stretch of pregnancy for me. When you’re wearing the same jeans day after day, it’s important to feel great about them – if DL doesn’t work for you, we have plenty of other awesome brands like J.Brand, Paige and Citizens of Humanity. Come on in to one of our stores or give us a call if you ever need help getting your first pair of maternity jeans!
